The Kilbarrack Community Development Project CLG also referred as
Kilbarrack Children?s Project?s purpose is to provide an
after-school program for children in the community. It is a community
service and is classified as a school aged childcare service under the
_Child Care Act **Apply on the website** (Early Years Services)
(Registration of School Aged Services) Regulations **Apply on the

The KCDP aims to provide a safe and inclusive environment where
children are supported in their holistic development through play,
choice based programming and encouraged to have fun.

ROLE: To support the work of the KCDP?s after school program in its
aim to provide group oriented active learning with focus on providing
a safe environment where children can participate in a fun and
well-balanced program.

HOURS:

KEY AREAS OF WORK:

* Develop, facilitate and evaluate various creative activities that
promote physical activity, positive development and healthy eating
according to the needs of participants aged **Apply on the website**
years
* Assist children with homework as needed
* Ensure the health and safety of all children attending the program
and promote respect amongst all children
* Ensure a supportive environment is maintained by developing
appropriate strategies to support children in managing their
behaviours
* Be aware of children?s activities at all times and intervene in
situations that display inappropriate behaviour
* Maintain open, positive communication with parents/guardians
regarding their child?s participation, homework, behaviours,
accidents/incidents and any other relevant information when necessary
while maintaining confidentiality

QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES

* QQI Level 5 Child Development
* Experience working with children age **Apply on the website**
years
* Current Occupational First Aid & CPR certification
* Ability to work well with children
* Experience with developing and implementation of activities for
children
* Ability to work on own initiative and as a team member in a
dynamic, complex environment
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with staff, participants and parents/guardians
* Ability to be adaptable to the changing needs of participants and
the after school program
* Understanding of community development principles
* Have a broad understanding of the National School curriculum from
1st to 6th class
* Awareness of Child protection procedures
* Maintain confidentiality regarding children
* Garda Vetting required before commencement of role
